Dr Dre is to be both the executive producer and star in a new Apple TV show called 'Vital Signs', which will also mark the corporation's scripted TV debut, reports say. The six-episode series is expected to be semi-autobiographical, and according to reports today (February 12), will focus on a different emotion (and its impact on Dre) in each episode. All six episodes are expected to be released at once, with Sam Rockwell and Mo McCrae also said to have been cast. Dre has a history on screen, having produced 'Straight Outta Compton' alongside Ice Cube last year, as well as featuring in 'Training Day', 'The Wash' and 'Set It Off'. He released his first album of the 21st century last year, 'Compton', which he has also said will be his last record, and regularly works with Apple through his Beats 1 radio show 'The Pharmacy'. The Hollywood Reporter says that 'Vital Signs' will be Apple's first scripted TV series, and that it will be dark and feature at least one orgy scene. Apple have declined to comment. Getty Dre recently launched a new track 'Back to Business', including it on his first Beats 1 show of the year. 'Back to Business' features T.I., Justus, Victoria Monet, and Sly Piper, and follows on from 'Naked', which was also premiered on The Pharmacy back in November 2015. Dre has also used his show over recent months to propose a European tour to be undertaken together with Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, as well as to feature numerous freestyle appearances from various hip-hop stars, and to get involved himself. The super-producer signed up to Apple Music's radio channel in the summer alongside the likes of Run The Jewels, Josh Homme, St Vincent, Haim and former Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.
