The vault at Prince's Paisley Park home - thought to contain at least one hundred album's worth of unreleased material - has been drilled open, according to ABC News. The bank-style vault is said to have been a large room under the property containing shelves of Prince's music, so much that ABC report that Prince's estate could put out an album a year for the coming century. "One day, someone will release them. I don't know that I'll get to release them," Prince told The View of his vault back in 2012. "There's just so many." The Bremer Trust have temporary authority over Prince's estate (he left no will), and it's not yet clear if or when the release of the music is likely to happen. Susan Rogers, Prince's former engineer, said in the report "We could put out more work in a month than most people could in a year or more." Getty The cause of Prince's death on April 21, meanwhile, is now the subject of a criminal investigation relating to a possible drug overdose. The development is the result of prescription drugs being found at the time of the musician's death. The Associated Press reports that an unnamed law enforcement official confirmed on Thursday (April 28) that investigations were underway. The same individual also confirmed previous reports that Prince was found unconscious on a plane just days before his death.

A new movie called Lost In The Festival is set to examine the changes in the UK music festival scene since 2007, through a series of interviews with major players. The movie, which is currently at a pre-edit stage, will look in detail at Glastonbury's progress, taking in high-profile interviews including Michael and Emily Eavis, Normal Cook (Fatboy Slim), Suggs and Keith Allen. The participants were interviewed in 2007, and again in 2016 (the latest interview with Michael and Emily Eavis was filmed this week), with a view to analyzing changes. The film is described as follows: "Glastonbury Festival didn’t sell out in the late 90’s, then along came a new party that would change that. Lost In the Festival is the untold backstage documentary about how Glastonbury’s infamous Lost Vagueness, formed by a band of risquè travelers, would alter the fate of the best festival in the world. In the making for the past 12 years, award-winning director Sofia Olins tells this story with exclusive never seen before material." Fatboy Slim says in the interviews: “The festival scene today is so bespoke, it can be like a dating site, you put in your likes and it’ll tell you which one to go to.” Matt Cardy Final footage for the movie will be shot at Glastonbury 2016, including footage with attendees at the festival, before the movie undergoes editing, which the producers will fund through a Kickstarter campaign. As part of the campaign, backers will be able to take part in festival interviews on site, as well as receive Lost-Vagueness related merchandise including a vintage Lost Vagueness Ballroom sign. The Kickstarter campaign will get underway on Tuesday (May 3), while progress can be followed on Facebook, here. Meanwhile, Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has hinted at a new location in 2018. Following previous concerns that the safety of a gas pipe might force the festival to move permanently, Loaded reports that Eavis has announced to them that they will stage a one-off festival "20 miles up the road" at a venue "the same size" as Glastonbury in two years time. The report suggests Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire as a possible new location. The report adds that 2018 has been earmarked as a fallow year to allow the grounds at Worthy Farm to recover, but instead of taking a break for twelve months like in previous years, the festival could move to the alternate location instead.

NWA's MC Ren has called Kiss' Gene Simmons 'real arrogant' as the pair's argument stemming from NWA's recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame continues. Simmons had criticised NWA's inclusion in the Hall of Fame, saying ahead of the ceremony "I am looking forward to the death of rap. I'm looking forward to music coming back to lyrics and melody, instead of just talking. A song, as far as I'm concerned, is by definition lyric and melody… or just melody." He added "Rap will die. Next year, 10 years from now, at some point, and then something else will come along. And all that is good and healthy." After calling Simmons arrogant over his comments, MC Ren also told Rolling Stone: "It's like, how he's looking at us, how he know that people before him in rock & roll don't look at him like that? How he know the Beatles or Muddy Waters, if he was still around, don't look at him as a gimmick? Who is he to say anything if he's wearing makeup and heels and sticking out his tongue every 10 seconds of his show? Come on, man, that's a gimmick." Getty Ice Cube had previously responded to Simmons' comments, saying "The question is, 'Are we rock and roll? And I say you goddamn right we rock 'n' roll. Rock and roll is not an instrument. It's not even a style of music. It's a spirit that's been going on since the blues, jazz, bebop, soul, rock 'n' roll, R&B, heavy metal, punk rock, and yes, hip-hop." Last week, meanwhile, the surviving members of NWA played together for the first time in 27 years. Playing at Coachella, the reunited members did not perform any NWA classics, instead playing Dr Dre’s ‘Still Dre’ and 2Pac’s ‘California Love’.

Radiohead fans have been sent a 'Burn The Witch' postcard in the post, printed in black and white alongside a piece of abstract art, and bearing the Radiohead logo. 'Burn The Witch' is a known and long-standing unreleased Radiohead song that is referenced as far back as 2002, when the name appeared in the corner of a piece of artwork associated with 'Hail To The Thief' (the album was released in 2003, but the artwork was painted in 2002). Thom Yorke wrote a post saying he had finished the lyrics to a track of the same name in 2005, with some lyrics later posted online. The song has been teased at least twice live over the past 15 years. There's a history of the name and the track - and also hear brief clips - here (read about other tracks that might be included on Radiohead's next release here). The postcard first surfaced this morning (April 30), and reads "Sing the song of sixpence that goes Burn The Witch. We know where you live," and has been sent to some people who have previously ordered from Oxford band View the postcard via Twitter, below: Umm, I just got this in the post from Radiohead. A leak has also suggested that the new release could be arriving in June, with Brian Message, the band's management partner, revealing the date on Twitter earlier this month. Message also said the album will be "like nothing you've ever heard."

Drake has used his hometown album launch event to claim that his newly-released album 'Views' (rebranded from 'Views From The 6' at last notice) has sold more than 600,000 copies in its first day of release. The Toronto rapper performed at a Toronto Raptors basketball game last night (April 29), before heading on to his launch party in the city. Footage from the launch party shows the rapper announcing "I got a text message that says we sold like 630,000 something records in one night, that's the first time we've ever done that so thank you so much." 'Views' is not available as a physical album yet, but can be heard via iTunes and Apple Music. The album features Rihanna, but has had contributions by Kanye West and Jay-Z cut from the final version. The fastest selling album in the US since first-week sales records began in 1991 is Adele's latest '25', which sold 3,378,000 copies in its first week of sales last year in the US alone. '25' also sold more than 800,000 copies in the UK, where it is also the fastest-selling release ahead of Oasis' 'Be Here Now'. See Drake making the announcement via Instagram, below: "I got a text messages saying we sold like 600k + copies" Drake to his city of Toronto last night! #VIEWS is getting mixed feelings, what's your thoughts is it drakes best or his worst? A video posted by @utorlive on Apr 30, 2016 at 6:34am PDT Explaining his decision to cut Kanye West and Jay-Z from the record - they had been featured on the track 'Pop Style' - Drake said: "I just ended up going with my version of the song." The Canadian rapper replaced West and Jay Z's verse with his own in the final version of the track. Asked about Jay Z's initial feature, which included just two lines, Drake told Zane Lowe: "Jay didn't really do a verse. I was just trying to get [Kanye] on it first. Jay kinda just did my first few lines for me and that’s how we flexed it". "It didn’t play out how I wanted it to go," he added. "Sometimes [Jay Z and I] just fall on opposite sides of the spectrum. It’s always mutual respect but sometimes it has to be from afar." Drake went on to praise West, describing him as "one of my favourite people... in the world". He added: "I love [Kanye]. He's a really good guy. I grew up with him as a role model. Always given him credit that's why we're here right now. It's amazing to be his friend."
