It has been announced that US TV drama The Good Wife will come to an end after its current season finishes in May.
The news broke in an advert during the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 7), with network CBS later confirming the news.
A press release states that the last ever episode of The Good Wife will air on May 8. The Good Wife has aired for seven seasons since its premiere in 2009.
"We’re looking forward to using this seventh season to bring Alicia’s story to its natural conclusion," show creators Robert King and Michelle King have said. "We couldn’t be more excited and grateful".
Actress Julianna Margulies, who plays Alicia Florrick in the show, says in a statement: "It has been an absolute honor to be a part of a series that, throughout seven years, never settled on being just good — but always strived to be extraordinary. I have witnessed magic happen when Robert and Michelle King put pen to paper, and it has been a privilege to be in the company of their brilliance."
